May god only allow for tasteful moving icons. May he spite anyone who uses it for tacky purposes.

i would like animated STATES of icons, but i installed kineticon several times, and only kept it working for about two minutes each before all those moving icons drove me nuts.

but if someone could make a police-light icon flash when items are placed inside a folder over a network, then you've got some usability behind it. or the trash could slowly vibrate, increasing in speed and degree as it filled up higher and higher. or hard drive icons that actually SHOWED activity in their icons on a per-drive basis.

It's just not fair! There are so many good ideas out there. Why have all you programmers gotten lazy? (you know who you are!)

Eh whatever. Good thing you don't mean me. What does this bring? Eye Candy? Thanks, got enough of that.

However, states of hard-drives and flashing icons would be cool.

yeah, that's the thing... kineticon was cool in theory, but in practice it was just abused to the point of distraction. i mean, oscar popping his head in and out of the trash can is cute... for the first five minutes... then it gets old.

and no one was developing any GOOD uses for it... not even the developer. just rotating cubes and globes and winking faces and... well, it just made the desktop look like that banner for "5,00 similies" vomitted all over the place. ugh.

i say bring it back IF someone can start using it conjunction with, say, applescript studio to make truly functional animated icon states.
