The Darkness
I was watching MTV late at night a few days ago, and this video I saw -- I swore it was from 1985 -- had a production value was way too high for that time period. To sum it up, the band was decked out in tight, plastic pants with oiled chests on a cheesy spaceship set that was attacked by a giant, spacefaring squid. I think they either distracted or defeated it by shooting lighting out of their guitars during the solo.
Needless to say, I was laughing very hard.
Anyway, I did a little internet research on the rock group in the vid ("The Darkness") and I find out that they're a bunch of British goofballs making silly, mullet rock songs in the 21st century. These guys are the closest thing I've ever seen to Spinal Tap.
Apparently they also field a semi-pro 5-a-side soccer team. What a bunch of loons. I like 'em already.

That is gotta be totally un-natural.

Unfortunately the music labels wouldnt take them seriously so they had to pay for the album themselves. Despite there parody style videos they are a serious band and i hope will dominate rock for a few years to come.

Where I come from, that would mean that the success of the album has made them much better off than they would be otherwise. Of course, the music business is a screwy one.
