Looks like garageband is gonna be my new addiction. Especially if you can add your own loops.
I have a friend that's a music teacher and just got a new eMachines notebook. I tried to convince him to get a PowerBook, but he was too scared of the transition from Windows. He's gonna wet himself when I show him this app.
The great thing for me in Garage Band will be that I can get an idea of what my music will sound like with other instruments. I play guiar and a bit of keyboard so this will be great.
I wonder what format those loops are in - if they're MIDI, you'd be able to change chords, if not, well who wants that loop to stay on the same chord forever. You couldn't even play a I/IV/V blues.

Yeah that's what it sounded like. So every sample is just in the same key? I assume you can "record" MIDI, so I hope there's some way to create your own loops and you can shift their pitch around. Eh, we'll find out soon enough what it can do.

Damn. And now I have to learn how to play the guitar.

Yes it does... $49 for iLife. Can't beat that.

AND I HATE THAT GUY
The guy from MTV?
At least the music people will recognize him and be better able to relate than with a big geek like Phil Schiller.

I wonder which apps will still be free? iTunes, iPhoto, and iMovie, just like before, with iDVD and Garage Band only in the iLife suite?
