iPhoto Import Dates - Modified vs Created?

I was just playing around with iPhoto (in preparation for using iPhoto 4 if it's any good), and noticed something a little odd... When importing photos from existing folders, iPhoto puts them in folders based on the image's 'modified' date, rather than the created 'date' . The problem for me is that I have around 1000 images from before I had my iMac that I moved across from my PC, and it's changed the 'modified' date on all of them to be the date I moved them over . So, is there a way to either get iPhoto to import and create folders based on 'created' date, or is there a simple way to change all of the photos so that the 'modified' date is set to the 'created' date? Maybe an AppleScript or something?

    I have a very similar problem... but I'd like the option for iPhoto not to reorg anything, similar to the way iTunes does it.



    Until then, I just keep new images in iPhoto, old ones just in/out as I need them.
