Hardware for the iTMS

Does anyone think there is a potential to do some heavy marketing for the xServe and RAID with iTMS being so popular? Does anyone know what kind/scale hardware Apple is using to support the store. They should explain it and use it saying, "The number 1 online music store is completely run on a couple of Xserves and a RAID.

Any thoughts?

Somehow I'll bet that it's more than a couple of Xserves and a RAID.

It is nice to see Apple eating their own dog food, though. That should be an interesting example for anyone interested in the robustness and scalability of Apple's solution - iTMS is a serious undertaking.

I was seriously considering attending MWSF for the "mac IT" track because of the rumored G5 Xserve... I knew it was going to have a major presence in this show...

I should have pushed the issue more with my parents...

i mean... only $900, plus airfare, plus room and board...

but I would have been able to see our bowl game :/

oh well... I hope there will be something similar in boston this summer...

    as the situation presents itself...

they are hoping to be 80-90% Xserve/Xserve RAID within all of their internal IT machines... they are currently at 30% and I'd bet around 3% of that or so is the iTMS... I don't think they will bother with upgrading their current Xserves until they have a larger base within the entire company....
