archived a movie with Panther bulitin archiving and my friend and then myself tried expanding it with WinZIP.

Got the following error:

Code:

Dll: C\Program Files\\WinZip\\WZ32.DLL - 17/10/98 07:00

Extracting to "C\Documents and Settings\\zo\\Desktop\\"

Use Path: yes Overlay Files: no

warning [C:/Documents and Settings/zo/Desktop/mortar.zip]: extra

262144 bytes at beginning or within Zip file (attempting to process

anyway)

Error in file #1: bad Zip file offset (Error local header signature

not found): 0

(attempting to re-compensate)

Extracting mortar.mpg

Error: unexpected end of file encountered

Error: invalid compressed data to inflate

Is it known that Panther ZIP has issues or what?

I haven't tried WinZIP in particular, but I've found it works fine with XP's built-in unzipping tool.

    Moving to Mac OS X.

I couldn't transfer two files in a Panther ZIP archive from my Mac to the other Mac in the house. How pitiful's that?

Besides, I use DropTar, or simply the command line ? mainly because I have no affiliation with any Wintel computer at all, (all UNIX). m.
