Help! safari not displaying pages!!!

Hi,

I have a G4 sawtooth agp 400 Pmac running 10.2.6 with no mods, haxies etc.

I've been havingtrouble with safari recently where it won't display pages. For example, I type in a url and the address bar gradually fills up with blue while the spinning logo in the tab spins as normal. the bar then gets half way and suddenly stops, leaving me with a blank page. If I then click on the refresh button it loads the page up fine after a few seconds of spinning logo. This happens in all kinds of sites.

I've fixed permissions many times and emptied my cache folder more than once. I've even reinstalled safari 3 times. can anyone help me figure out what is going on?

thanx

run the console app and check for the message safari sends when it stops loading the pages, if you dont know what it means you can post it here

    Hi eme,

    thanx for your reply.

Unfortunately I'm a total novice with console having never used it.

I ran console and it launched showing me a load of stuff from earlier that day. I chose clean then launched safari. However, no matter what I do insafari, the console window stays blank.

I am doing something wrong here I think?

    I had the same problem.

I found out at another site,

    that going into fontbook

    and disabling the Times font

alleviated the Safari page loading problem.

Times is one of the default fonts

    that Safari uses.

    When Times is disabled,

    Safari replaces it with helvetica.

I wish I could remeber the site where I saw this.
