QT Player quits on launch

The title says it all. QT Player 6.5 Player quits on launch. The player actually launches and I see the first frame of the video, then the spinning beachball, then the "Quicktime Player has unexpectedly quit.." message. This started right after I installed the 6.5 update. I do have an older version of the Quicktime Player (6.3) on the hard drive that still works. Could the older version be causing the issue?

    I'm confused... you actually have two versions installed at the same time? On Mac OS X?

    Try trashing 6.3. That might do the trick. If not, delete your caches, repair permissions, and do an fsck. Info about how to do all those things can be found here.
