In 2003, a record 152.6 million PCs were shipped

Dell

Hewlett Packard

IBM

Toshiba

Gateway

Apple

eMachines

Think Big old GE will get involved?

Buy out Gateway? or Toshiba?

Why do they want to get into the PC industry?

Ummm... No. No, I don't. Not at all.

    Why you ask?

Well because they have yet to state any interest in the PC market and I have heard of no plans for any buyout.

But I am not on the inside so I could be in the wrong.

No. The PC industry doesn't have the nice profit margins G.E. is used to. I think G.E. would rather continue to improve their FInancial Services unit than get into a new market.

Now what could happen would be a mega-merger between G.E., G.M., and IBM. The company could then be named "General."
