Now, don't worry: this isn't for some creepy nefarious purpose. I have to conduct some interviews for my dissertation over the telephone. Some of my research subjects have agreed to let me make audio recordings. But how would I go about doing this? Is there any better way than holding up a micro cassette recorder up so a second phone? Anything cheap and easy i could pick up at a Radio Shack-ish place that could help me out?

Any advice would be appreciated. Plus, you'd get a warm and fuzzy feeling inside since you'd be helping to advance knowledge !

you should buy one of those microphones that have a "sucker" on them that you attach to any phone (better if has a large surface). Usually can buy at radio shack or other electronics stores. I bought one a few years ago for about 3 dollars

You can then stick the microphone with sucker, into a Griffin iMic and record directly to your Mac...
