The Apple Store for education holds back software deliveries for 10 days

Is this the case in other markets?

I've recently ordered iLife04 from the Apple Store in Japan and they advise me that it will be delivered in 2 to 3 weeks. Since iLife is due out in Japan at the end of this month, it seems it will be about 10 days after its release to the retail market. I had a similar experience when I ordered Soundtrack.

Is it because I am getting an education discount?

Can you enlighten me with your experiences in your own part of the world?

Thank you for reading this and considering a reply.

I purchased iLife '04 and the JAM pack in the US. Apple upgraded my shipping to 2-day FedEx for free and I received my stuff on the Friday it was released.

Sorry about your stuff. I wonder if Apple experienced a iLife shortage?

Why would they hold it back like that unless they were experiencing a shortage?

Also, you have to remember, a lot of the time they'll quote you 2-3 weeks and they'll deliver it in like two weeks. It's covering their ass mostly. I mean, if they say two weeks, and you get it in two and a half weeks, you're pissed. If they say three weeks and you get it in two weeks, Apple is your hero.

When I ordered iLife '04 from the Canadian Education Store, it quoted me 15 business days to ship. (it still does, in fact)

Imagine my surprise when it shipped that day.
