When you installed Panther, did you do a 'custom' install? There were about a bazillion Epson drivers listed there, not all clicked on for auto-install.
[edit]: According to Epson the driver *should* be on the OSX CD. \
1st, downlaod teh Epson package#2 from the PantherInstall DVD disk 3
then
go to System/Library/Printers/Utilities and Double click to open the Epson Printer Utilities from here, otherwise it will still be grayed-out in Printer-Set-Up
Then you can make an alias and save it on the Dock and in th eUtilies folder . . . .

anybody else running an Epson fine on Panther?
it prints but I can't clean the printer heads or test the ink amounts or align the printer heads . . . please help .
at least respond negatively if you look at this thread please . . . .
What program are you printing out of that you can't see the PU?
I have even opened the Epson Software from the Library/printers folder
as well as go through System Preferences . . .
perhaps I need to download a new version of the printer software?!?!?!

I tried that and that didn't work either
i found some threads online where people had the same problem, the only solution I came across ws to reboot into OS-9
nedless to say that is very unsatisfying . . .
