Why doesn't this iTunes applescript work?

I have iTunes running across the other side of the room and want to update the rating on each track from my laptop on the sofa.

I'm planning on connecting with ssh and using osascript to execute an applescript but I seem to have stumbled at the first post. For some reason the following refuses to set the currently playing track to 5 stars (100)

Does anyone know why?

tell "iTunes"

    try

        se t theTrack to the «class&nbsp ;pTrk»

        se t «class pRte» of theTrack&n bsp;to 100

    end try

end tell

thanks!
