Hey:

I own a G4 Tower with 466 Mhz, the model that DIDN"T come with an audio in port...which pisses me off every day. Well I wanted to know what are some good sound cards for the Mac that are fairly decient in price. I looking for one that has an audio-in port so I could start recording with GarageBand. I know that I could just get something like iMic, but I might as well get a better soundcard while I'm at it.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

The audiophile 2496 is pretty nice also.

It has 4 in/4 out which gives you a lot of options. $199.

It is a better option for recording than the Revolution.

I have the Echo Mia card. It works great. You can get one for around $180. The new Mia card has midi for $200.

An AM 3 (Audio Media 3) will alow you to work with Protools LE . . it has SPDIF and composite In and Outs and can be gotten on eBay for cheap

just make sure to get the proper version as the older models do not work with G4s

Protools 6.0 is 50$ . . . . that is very cheap for such great software

Protools LE 6.2.2 (what you'll need to work in Panther) is 75$

if you do Post Prod for video then Protools is THE way to go
