Powerbook display/lid question

Hi

I just received a new Powerbook G4 12" and absolutely love it! However, I've noticed that when the display (lid) is closed, it doesn't seem to quite close on both sides. Where the lid "foot" on the right side touches the bottom (keyboard) half of the Powerbook, the other doesn't quite touch the left side.

Is this normal or a problem?

I have had my 15" pb since December 16. I immediately noticed the uneven gap. After sending it in for repair twice, I was so frustrated that I called Apple to register a complaint and see what I could do next. They put on a product specialist who told me that all pbs have this gap because they can't set the screen in straight at the hinge. If they did, the lcd would crack. He told me there is an acceptable range for the gaps and they test it, by seeing how many quarters stack up in the gap. Interesting, huh?

My 15" has a small gap, so does my brothers g4 iBook and my sisters g4 iBook, makes me think that they did it intentionally

It doesn't bother me much, but it is a *little* unsettling having it rattle around, but I know it won't do much harm in the long run, and if it did, I'm sure there are many makeshift solutions to it(small clamp on the corner..etc)
