switching hard drives: Apple Mail question

I have two hard drives in my computer, and Mac OS X 10.3.2 on both of them. I recently switched which one i start up from, and I am wondering how i can get all of my old e-mails that i had downloaded from the server in Mail into the Mail program of my newer hard drive.

Just FYI, the reason i switched startup drives is because the one i switched to is newer, bigger, and spins faster, so I figured it'd just be better.

thanks!

Just quit Mail, copy the Library/Mail folder from your old home directory into your new home directory, and relaunch Mail. Simple as that!

You have to be careful doing that. In general, if you only copy the mail files you might not get a functional set of mail accounts. You also need to copy the preference file com.apple.mail.plist from the library/preferences in your user directory.

Probably in the case being discussed here the user had already created the same account and mail folders so it worked.

Alternatively, you can use the command in Mail to import one or more mailboxes.
