I have an MPEG that I need to convert to a Quicktime .mov WITH the sound. Converting it using QT Pro leaves out the sound!! Help! This is a genuine bona fide emergency!

an mpeg video multiplexes the video and the audio information into one stream, qt is able to playback this stream, but cannot convert it into any other format, without loosing one part...

    there is hope:

look att versiontracke for BBDEMUX - this tiny prg de-muxxes the stream into a .m1v and a .m1a part.

you can both open them with qt pro.

mark "all" and copy the audio track.

go into the video file and place it "trimmed".

you can export from there into any qt format

you have trouble to copy the audio track... you got a mpg sound file format, which is not compatible with qt. you need the madplayer (look at vt). this converts your .m1a audio into .aiff. same procedure as above.
