Digital Projectors
What are the best video projectors to use with a 15" Al Book? Will mainly be used in teaching my seminars in History; cannot stand the idea of checking out one from the Library every time I'd like to show something from my mac. btw, the Library knows nothing of Macs, so I'm on my own here, unless you folks can help. I don't have to carry the thing too far, but when I go fully mobile it will be to Japan, so I may still leave that end of the show at home (or in the office). I am most familiar with HP products but have only one committment?? I want the company to be here next year to sell me the replacement bulb.

I've owned a few projectors, most of them were some of the more well known ones, and they are all somewhat problematic in their own ways. The ones I've found to be most reliable so far have been infocus/proxima, although I haven't touched NEC at all.
For what you are using it for, don't go for any frills. You need it to do its job and do it well. You want at least 400:1 constrast and VGA or DVI input. DVI is more high-end and not really necessary for what you need. You will likely want nothing less than 1024x768 resolution.
The one thing I would recommend is to possibly avoid a dlp projector. Many people (myself included) see rainbows all over the screen, so some students might find them annoying. We even have one in one of our training labs at work (major university library) and even in the bright lights the rainbows are noticable.
As for your library, they need to get on the ball. We have few people (well, out of those that have a job that requires them to know anything beyond checking email) in our library that don't use macs at home, and those of us that can use them at work do so.
