I need your opinion on the NVidia GeForce 4 Titanium video card with 128 MB, for the Mac. I may install one on a dual 867 MHz with Panther and 1 Gig of ram, to drive an Apple 17" LCD screen.
Well I've had a Geforce 4 Ti for 18months. I play a lot of games, and its fast, good enough for 1024x768 max settings on any game (however I have aa Dual 1Ghz machine, which may help).
The only thing I would say against it is its price. It was very expensive when I got mine, and it might still be. In comparison, a ATi Radeon 9000 is not as far off from this card as you might expect.

If you are using the card:
1) For games.....3D games will see the biggest difference
2) For 3D Apps, the biggest difference seen with this cards are Lightwave and Maya. Cinema....okay
3) For 2D stuff....save your money and donate that to me. This card is useless/overkill for this kind of stuff
