Off Air TV Shows
I'm not sure if this is Outsider material or GE, so as if you needed my permission, move it at will
I was wondering what happens to TV shows that aren't on anymore. There are shows I used to watch that no longer are on TV, and you can't buy stuff anywhere. Especially pilots that fail, what happens to those, is it hopeless to want to get a copy of them ever?

When I was mixing for TV, we did three different versions of the Dave Chappell show over as many years before the network picked him up.
All of them were great, but the network passed on each show.
Lots of great shows never see the light of day for various reasons (and I've got a copy or two of my favorites!)
...and yes, it is hopeless to think you can get copies of you fav failed pilot unless you know someone "inside", but I don't know anyone who'd risk losing their job to give you the goods - this is too cool of an industry to work in.
You almost can't even call it "work".
There are some pilots that have been passed around so much in LA that they have probably been seen by more people than would have watched if they aired...
i.e. Heatvision and Jack
