The Telegraph's spin is predictable ("His words will disappoint critics of the US policy"). I thought the article actually spoke volumes about (a) the common decency of the average American soldier and (b) the ham-fisted way in which the Bush administration dealt with matters in Afghanistan. His detention began when a group of armed men detained him and handed him to US soldiers saying he was a Taliban fighter...that was all the proof needed to put him in a camp in Cuba him for 14 months.
