Anyone applied the GeForce 4MX Firmware update yet?

Apple just released the new firmware (version 3) for nVidia GeForce 4MX



Anyone tried it yet?



I pulled out the card the first minute I unpacked my QS so I didn't know if my card also suffers that flashing problem. If the firmware fixes other people's problem I think I may put the GeForce card back to my QS.

    I thought it was a mere driver update, not a firmware update.

    XLR8YourMac mentioned it was firmware....now I got different stories from both size and don't know who to believe :confused: <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

    My GeForce4 MX has ROM v1088. New ones are being shipped with ROM v1091. The driver update for OS 9 does not come with a firmware update.

    I believe there was both a driver (for OS 9) update and a firmware update.

    Do generic and PC branded GeForce boards (from 3 onwards) still need to be flashed on a PC with specific rom so as to work on Macs or do they all just work out of the box on Macs now?



    I havent seen much news about flashing the cards lately so I was wondering about that.
