My iMac is doing some strange things. I live in AZ but I have to set the time zone to Hawaii. The other day my whole screen went grey and it's having trouble booting up. I would like to replace the lithium battery. I know where the RAM goes but how hard would it be for me to locate and replace the battery?

Rather. Getting to the battery in those models is difficult. Possible to reach, but difficult.

I recommend you take it to a local Apple repair center, and have them do it for you. Battery should cost $15-20, and whatever their repair fee is.

$75, what a rip off! How do I know if it is the battery for sure?

The battery is right to the left of the RAM slots, so if you take out the RAM, it shouldn't be overly difficult to replace the battery. The battery itself should be about $10 at Radioshack or wherever.
