Anyone using the OrangeMicro iBot?

I just bought the OrangeMicro iBot and am having trouble with the driver, specifically my computer locking up whenever the iBot is plugged into the FireWire port (see <a href="http://forums.appleinsider.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=7&t=000554"; target="_blank">http://forums.appleinsider.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=7&t=000554</a>; for more details). Does anyone out there use the iBot? And what was your experience installing the driver and related software?

    ok, this is probably a stupid suggestion, but have you tried the same iBot with a different firewire cable?



    also, have you tried doing a flat-out exchange of the product. it's possible that the iBot you got is broken, or that there's something wrong with the firewire cable you're using.



    well, i looked around on the web, and there were some issues with the iBot, but i didn't come across a problem exactly like yours, which means you might have a decent shot at fixing it with a new wire and/or camera.

    You can't swap out the cable - it's hardwired into the iBot. I did contact OrangeMicro and am awaiting a response from them as to what they intend to do to help me.
