I'm searching Quantum 540MB SCSI 50pin 540S at ebay and seller mentioned that it has apple rom and it won't work with IBM PC. Is this true? I want to use it with IBM PC.

I'm sure there are plenty of people willing to give away old hard drives like that. That one is so old you may as well buy a bunch (like, a dozen) and just toss out all the ones that don't work, and keep the ones that do. They can't be more than a buck or two apiece. Also, it's been a really, really long time since hard drives have required the proper ROMs. Nowadays you just give the hard drive the right format and it'll work in any computer.

He'd be better off hiring a bunch of chinese kids to memorize numbers for him.
