itunes playlists where?

i want to know where the itunes playlists are. so, where are they!?

    ummm..... if youre asking how to make playlists, jsut drag a song over the side bar, and you can name it, then drag other songs over to the same bar, making sure you place song the song into the same place as the first song (it will highlight the playlist name when youre on top of it.

    no, i'm not asking how to make playlists, i'm asking where the .m3u files are, or whatever.

    so, could i potentially edit/add playlists in that file if i felt some such desire?

    If you were going to try something like that you'd be better of using the export and import options in the File menu. However, I don't know if it would work and I don't understand why you would want to do it that way.

    i'm writing a program to copy just ratings off of the ipod, and yes, i know there are others out there, but i'm making this one, and i just needed to know where the actual playlists are, so i can copy the ratings and do it correctly.
