-Unbeatable for that price
But some problems:
Warranty - Only one year compare Intuos' Lifetime
Pressure sensitiviy - 512 vs Intuos' 1024
Stylus - while they look similar. The graphire pen isn't very comfortable compare to Intuos'
I am using both of them and I am a PICKY person....if you are a casual user Grahire is more than enough for you
But, like Leonis said, you can't beat it for the price. Oh, and once you get it, just toss the mouse that comes with it in the trash...that's where it belongs.

do you use your Intuos to draw directly in p'shop/painter/something else ? I still haven't gotten the hang enough to do that and typically scan stuff first and just color it... I just got curious after looking at your sites.

It not very accurate... And I cant "pickup and then push"... like how you move your finger on a trackpad to cover more distance than you have...
Thats what I wanted... but that probably doesnt exist...
I have to move my whole arm all over the screen to cover space... Its irritating...
I suppose it might just be "mouse sickness"... I havent used a mouse for a long time... and I havent ever used a pen...
And this device doesnt have a control panel...? whats up with that...? I keep on getting a pop-up saying if I want it to be included in my setting I have to open and then close the "control panel"... there is no control panel, not in 9 or in system pref of OS X...
I will try to get used to it, but it wasnt axactly what I thought it was... "I thought it was just a giant trackpad"...
Never had a scroll whell before... thats cool...
Is there a pen that you can use on my ibooks track pad...? I dont know how well that would work either...

I restarted and everthing works fine but its just crappy...
I tried to adapt as best I could to this new input device but it lacks soo much...
My dreams would be a really big trackpad just like my ibook2 has only maybe 4 x 5 and acts just like my current trackpad with the "hop and push" finger thing I was talking about earlier... I looked for a large external trackpad, but had no luck...
Also I wish there was just a pen device that could better define my intentions on my ibooks trackpad... I believe the ibooks trackpad uses the conductivity of your body to determine the location of your finger... I wish there was a pen that could further localize that on my ibooks trackpad...
Well I boxed the thing up... I guess once you go trackpad, you dont go back...
It was hard to get used to a trackpad and now I feel wierd using anything else...

How long did you use it? Give it a week of real use and mess with all the settings before you give up on it.
Oh, and the settings are in teh Applications:Wacom folder. Open the Wacom program and go to town.
The pen thing will take a little to get used to, but if all you want is a giant trackpad, you've made the wrong purchase. This is meant to facilitate drawing on screen. The top-left of the tablet corresponds to the top-left of the screen; bottom-right to bottom-right, etc..
There's no sort of magic drag the pen, pick it up and drag in the same place over again - keep in mind that you should be able to stick a drawing under the plastic on the tablet and trace that. If you did the same drag over and over again, it would NOT correspond to different spots on the screen/picture.
I must reiterate THIS IS NOT A TRACKPAD, THIS IS A PEN TABLET. Give it a chance, once you get used to it, you'll really begin to enjoy it.

<strong>The Graphire has so much over a trackpad that I am finding it hard to believe you actually are boxing it back up...

Thank You NoahJ...! And ricRocket...!
with those pref settings, thats soo much better now...
Update: A sheet of paper over it to gives you a feeling of grain when you draw and makes tons of difference too...

<strong>I'm a graphic design student, but Have no problem with the Graphire.... screw it, Intuos too expensive for same size.

Intuos 4x5 is the worst value for the price anyway.....
But there is no 6x8 , 9x12, or even 12x12 Graphire
Once you are used to a mid to big size tablet you will never want to look back
I am using a 6x8 Intuos and loving it....especially I got it for "cheap"
Intuos does come with replacement pen tip. Graphire doesn't
You may think this is minor....but that pen tip is very pricy for a small piece of plastic. The tip usually wears out in about 3 to 5 months. Of course this is when you are using it everyday like me
