What do you think I can get for my 1st gen (two years old) 15" LCD flatscreen 800MHz G4 iMac with 512MB RAM, 60GB HD, 32MB nVIVIDA GeForce 2 MX and SuperDrive running OS 10.3 (ur)?

Runs perfectly, but I need a laptop. Relatedly, where can I get a great deal on recent production iBooks or PowerBooks?

I have the exact same machine and configuration, right down to the RAM and everything! I asked a couple weeks ago about its value because I too need to sell in order to buy a PowerBook. I'm waiting on the next revision though...

I was told I could get about $800-950 for it.

check completed auctions on e-bay. that's your best estimate.

additionally to eBay, www.powermax.com will give you a free estimate for what they'll pay for it. I think www.smalldog.com will too.

Yeah, but PowerMax and SmallDog won't pay you very much. Definitely less than what you'd get on eBay. You do avoid some hassle though.

well, the reason for checking them out is to get an in the ballpark estimate, then give or take a few hundred and you have a good idea what you can get.
