Will a Parallel/USB port converter work on my Apple laptop?

I currently have an iBook G3 600mhz, but if I can get this working I'm more than likely going to go ahead and get a new Powerbook for work. I need to be able to use my work's laser printer which is only equipped with a parallel port with my iBook. I see that Parallel port to USB port converters exist and I'm curious whether they will work on my iBook/Powerbook, especially in Mac OS X.
