just out of interest and as a comparison anyone with the X11.app open it up and type /usr/X11R6/bin/glxgears

and then post your results here pls.

My best is 2190.800 FPS on a rad 9000 pro 867 G4 MDD

and 800fps on my second rad 7000.

Just FYI, that would be theoretical FPS, or the FPS your card is capable of, your display can't even do that.

    glxgears standard window size.

    Xfree86 4.3

    Linux kernel 2.4.25

    ATI Radeon 9000 Pro

True, but don't over look the fact that even if we get monitors that can handel such a high amount of frames... our eyes would no be able to tell the difference between 70fps and 2000fps. This is just a benchmarking tool...

    I was agreeing with you...

And adding that our eyes can't tell the difference in frames past 70... +/- 10fps depending on the person.

    Anyway...

I would also like to see some more benchmarks... there has to be more people with X11 on their macs in our communtiy... shout out.

Maybe someone has an OpenDarwin install they would like to show off?
