iPod feature idea...

Sorry if this has been raised before...



I was sitting on the 'T' (Boston's version of the subway) last night, and there were 5 other people around me with iPods on. This is not the exeption, but rather the rule.



I think that it would kick ass to have wireless built in to the ipod that used a variant of rendezvous to share playlists with others in close proximity. I want to be able to browse those near me, and scroll through their libraries...and so on. Even to 'beam' files (not music, but files on the HD) from one ipod to another.



In my opinion, this would absolutely rock!!



Any thoughts?

    not a new idea, i remember it a little while ago when the story about ipod jacking came up. i tend to think that there are technical arguments against it, though i can't remember what they are.

    The idea is a cool one and one discussed before, one draw back I see tho is even less battery life with a powered up integrated AE chip and xtra hdd spinning up for enquiring nearbyers not to mention the xtra cost we would get slugged. but it could be fun...
