I can't burn DVDs to back up my files!
I ran out of HD space. Too much porn. So I thought it would be a good idea to burn a DVD of MPGs to free up space.
I created a new folder, transferred 4.24GB of MPGs to it, inserted a fresh DVD, dragged the folder to the DVD icon and waited 40 minutes for the transfer. Then I clicked "Burn DVD." After the 40 minute write time I got a dialog box saying the disc may not work or some junk. I tried twice and ruined both DVD-Rs.
What's the secret?
PS I tried searching the forum and didn't find anything I thought was pertinent to my dilemma, although I could easily have been mistaken. Does it have anything to do with repairing permissions? I just stumbled upon the FAQ here at the Genius Bar and followed the repair disc permissions instructions. If I got any "group differs" warnings does that mean it was noted and fixed or that it was noted and I *need* to fix it?
