portable gear (case) for powerbooks

So, I'm going for the Ti Powerbook as soon as my local store gets them in and, being some $3.5K, I'd be an idiot not to get a nice protective cover for it.

I've seen the backpack and the carrying case from the apple store for $149-$179, and if anyone has one, or knows of better, or has any advice/recommendations, much appreciated.
