Camcorder "bit" difference, does it make a difference?
I have heard that setting the camcorder on different "bit" settings, from 8, 12, and 16 makes a difference in quality, is that true? If so, will my Canon ZR-25 be able to be set to 16, as it is currently on 12? Also, will it even matter if I were able to set it to a higher bit level, because I want to know if it will impace old analog footage that I am converting from the VCR to mini DV, then onto DVD's later. Thanks

higher numbers are often better... our amps go up to 11!
