'Outrage' is when you overthrow democratically elected leaders and install dictators that disappear thousands of people (like in Chile), or invade countries without genuine international support, blaming the French along the way.

Well, if the US hadn't encouraged, funded and developed the Taliban and Saddam Hussien for their near sighted needs a few decades ago, we wouldn't have to worry about US security now, would we? The world would be a better place if the current US foreign policy was flushed down the toilet.

The first day, experts about terrorism (spanish or french : for the record one part of the Basque countrie is in France) where absolutely sure that it was ETA. Now new elements, including the discovering of an intact bomb, show an alternative : Al Quaeda.
Khoffi Annan just reported what said experts. And sometimes experts are wrong.
This bombing do not look like ETA, but not like Al Quaeda who are fond of Kamikaze (they love the idear of sacrifice).

In defense of that, the US technically aided the group that was later twisted INTO the Taliban. but I will agree that the old desert proverb "an enemy of my enemy is my friend" is a bad idea long term.
Perhaps from your post, they should add critical thinking as well. You think that current policy caused 9/11? if it wasn't happening now it would only be a few years away. The rise of fundamentalism (Christian, Muslim and any others out there) is the cause for this. that and an inability for people to make things better for themselves rather than worse for others.
People like to point the finger and blame rather than solve the damn problem. They'll use any justification they can to do so. THAT'S what we're seeing now.
We should withdraw all UN staff working towards gender equality and maternal health in every corner of the world because of this OUTRAGE and make them face TRIAL. Once we've done that we should make sure that the UN's education and development units should be MADE ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR OUTRAGEOUS ACTIONS, starting with the units posted to sub-Saharan Africa, who would be back in New York by morning if I had my way. ("Ensure that all boys and girls complete a full course of primary schooling" my ARSE.)
I am particularly OUTRAGED by the UN's stated aim to and I QUOTE: "Reduce by half the proportion of people living on less than a dollar a day" and "Reduce by half the proportion of people who suffer from hunger."
SHAMELESS ****ING BASTARDS. BURN DOWN THE UN BUILDING. SEND KOFI ANNAN TO THE INTERNATIONAL CRIMINAL COURT. (no? ok then) SEND THE ****ER TO CUBA.

The US didn't do those things.
