My roomates iMac 450 ( my old one before the G4 800 ) keeps booting into open firmware. He is an absolute newbie and I'm trying to train him. He is running OS X.1.4 and has all the latest updates. When this was my computer it never did this. How can I get it to stop? Thanks for any help!

I know this works for PowerBooks, but you can always try rebooting the iMac and holding down Command-Option-O-F (letter "o"). This should prevent Open Firmware from starting up everytime.

    Try setting auto-boot to true.

    I think the syntax is.

    setenv auto-boot true

No, it's in the OF prompt you get when you get dumped into OF.
