Well all, it's been a fun ride. I've been hired by the company we all know and love and I don't think I will be allowed to post in Mac-related forums anymore, though I'm not sure yet as I don't start training for another week. It should be an amazingly fun retail job, especially for a 19-year-old kid who is also a full time student. I will check in from time to time though...it's been fun.

How would they know? My god you are ethical/moral/good...

I'd just do whatever I want and tell them what they want to hear.

meh. You'd give up posting on the most illustrious messageboard for a job with a "Fruit Company?" You're one sick individual filmmaker!

You'll have to sign an NDA, but it's not like you'll know much anyway. MAYBE you'll have the leg up like the day before any new equipment is coming out. It's not like we don't already get that info anyway.

    But congratulations.

you will be under NDA, but it will not prevent you to post some good advices in the genius bar for example. helping Mac users in trouble, is not forbidden isn't it ?

I don't think that AO is under NDA either

    Yes it is.

If filmmaker2002 is going to work for the fruit company in retail he won't be allowed to participate in any mac related activities.

I thought you were being ironic and meant Microsoft!

Try reading the whole thread with Microsoft in your head...

    Oh... wait...

Seems to me that you could just re-register under a new name, and make sure that you NEVER EVER mention that you work for Apple, that you "used" to be Filmmaker2002, or reveal any info learned from work.

And then no one would be the wiser...

    Speaking Theoretically, of course...

Is that really the deal on that? If you work for Apple - even in one of its far-flung retail stores (part time, say) - you're not allowed to do what you used to do in the way of Mac forums and whatnot?

    Is that true? Interesting.

if you arent absolutly sure about an upcoming product you can still speculate, the same way thaat a guy in a car factory can say anything he wants so long as trade secrets and / or the terms of a non disclosure agreement arent violated, how can you disclose what you dont "know"?

You are not allowed to participate in any mac related activities. It's part of your contract.

Edit: I didn't want to come off as being harsh.

    Well bye then.

I hope that if I get an internship with Apple that I can still post here... it would suck if I couldn't. But any inside knowledge on Apple products would be awesome even though it would have to remain in my head.
