burned a cd using the finder to burn it in panther on my iBook, then, i went to put the data onto my friend's old powerbook (333 G3) which is on jaguar, and it wouldn't even spin the cd, yet when i put it into my computer on panther, it worked fine. what is this all about?

First, the most obvious thing...does the CD drive on the old PB work for other CDs? Second, what OS is the PB running? Third, you may be burning the CD in an incompatible format. Check your CD burning preferences and make sure it's a universal format CD that you are burning.

I'm not sure because I don't have a Mac with a built in burner. I would guess that it's in system preferences though.

It might be the actual CD...is it CD-R or R/W? The drive in the Lombard PowerBooks could be too old to read disks made today.
