How can XServe call or page me if the server fails? I don't think it has a modem or modem port...

Any ideas. Am I missing something?

The monitoring computer (the one you connect up and run the monitor from) does the notification.

Or, if you only had one server for whatever reason, you could put an external USB modem on it. Just a thought.

Heh.. you want the computer than just kernel panicked to phone you up? good luck.

That's the job of the monitor computer.

If it kernel panicked, no, but if its connectivity failed or one of its scheduled jobs bombed it would be nice. However, yes, the monitor machine should do that, unless you are on a very small network and have not set one up, then it would make sense for the modem to be there...
