Stragely Dead iPod
so here's the deal. my cousin's iPod died the other day. only it's not really dead.
the iPod will still boot the apple logo. afterwards it will show the folder with an exclamation point. i've tried the reset and reboot options, neither of which will work.
what's worse is that no computers i have will see it. if i plug it in, it doesn't register as anything, so i have no way to update it or wipe it via the iPod software updater.
any ideas? i don't care about losing songs on this, that's easy enough to put back on.

Same thing happening with my friends 40 gb iPod.
Se here
It isn't recognized by the computer, doesn't hold a battery charge well (just may have not been charged properly ever) and is just plain outright annoying.
Heh, I was thinking of grabbing the 40GB HD from it and switchign it with my 10GB and hoping they wouldn't notice, but with him paying with credit card and all they could find out and then he'd be screwed...oh yeah plus I'm an honest person.
