If I wanted to use the F8 key on my keyboard to launch Safari, for example, how would I go about doing that? Everytime I try in the Keyboard preference, it doesn't work. I could launch programs like this in OS 9.

You may be able to find an app that will do that on
Version Tracker
. Search around for keyboard mapping. Search version tracker or google it.

You need
Keyboard Maestro
. It does what you want to do and much more.

Awww, geez. This is not good. You would think something like this would be built into OS X ... not third party. Thanks for your help though!
