iBook G4 and Monitor Spanning...

Hello all,

I'm just wondering if the hack to enable monitor spanning, or the iBookScreenEnhancer AppleScript works with the new iBook G4 with the ATI Mobility Radeon 9200, (32 MB DDR SDRAM)?

It does say it works on the first linked page, but I was wondering if it has worked for anyone else here?

Thanks in advance. m.

Yep. I'm running a CRT at 1280x960 right now, in addition to the 1024x768 on the LCD. Screen Spanning Doctor works like a charm. Clamshell still sucks though.

I'll add my voice to the chorus. My iBook G4 has been running with the screen spanning doctor hack since late December without a hick-up.

I installed it on my sister's machine too (iBook G4, from Oct '03). Works great.

Can you use the hack and close the ibook so you can use the ibook closed

ToddW: That would be "clamshell" mode. As murbot indicated above, the hack works for clamshell mode, but not reliably or consistently at all. So if you want reliable clamshell operation, you'll have to opt for a PowerBook, which supports it out of the box without a hack.
