iLife4 problems with 10.2.8
I purchased iLife4 to check out Garageband and experience the "improvements" to iPhoto, iMovie, and iDVD. The iLife4 package recommended running at least 10.2.8. I was running at 10.2.6 quite efficiently.
After upgrading to 10.2.8., my start-up times went from about 50 seconds to 3 minutes. Shut down times are similar. Worse, iPhoto locks up constantly and I get the spinning wheel ad ifinitum. iMovie won't even run. I haven't tried iDVD because I can't use iMovie.
I have run "Repair Permissions" about 3 times after having to force quit the iApps so many times, but that doesn't seem to help.
Any suggestions on how to resolve these issues? Or is it merely, "pay for the 10.3 upgrade?"If so it is incredibly poor customer treament to tell them 10.2.8 is an acceptable OS for running upgraded iApps.
