Burned CD-R in Panther doesn't mount on Jaguar?

More OSX transition woes. A friend is burning some files for me on a CD-R using his SuperDrive Powerbook running Panther.

I bring it home to my iMac running 10.2.8, and it doesn't mount.

I run the DiskUtility and try to verify the disk.

I get this:

Checking HFS Plus volume.

Invalid B-tree node size

The volume needs to be repaired.

Volume check failed.

So what went wrong? Was it burned improperly? What gives?

thanks

Yeah, it sounds like either a bad burn or the media itself has been damaged. It happens.

Sometimes disks burned on one drive just won't work on certain other drives. Especially if one of the drives is older. I have a Wallstreet PB which is really picky about which disks it will read.

You could try media from different manufacturers. Sometimes that helps.
