my ibook takes forever to send a job to the printer?

How can I speed it up. It takes maybe 2-4 minutes for the printer to start printing. The status in my printer dialog box is idle during this time. Man that is way slower than my PC. My printer is an HP 5650. Help!

    Are you using Jag or panther?



    Printing was kind of slow in jag but has sped up for me in panther.

    Panther. It takes forever.....it takes less time to print over my network, than it does to print to my usb connected printer from my ibook.

    Only suggestion I can think of is make sure you're using the latest drivers:
