Superman in Shockwave 3D

Hey guys! I'm taking a 3D modeling/shockwave 3D programming class this semester here at MSU...

We had our second large project due on Friday, just thought I would share it with you guys...its pretty cool.

Here is the complete assignment:

Cartoon Superman

Our assignment was to model and animate an interactive biped model. I chose superman from justice league, but it turn out looking more like a far side cartoon version than the justice league version...

A few things that suck about it...

In Safari any shockwave 3D elements don't align correctly (they're shift up wards- I sent a bug report to apple, but I think it might be something with the plug-in).

I have no collision detection right now...I didn't have time to implement it and it wasn't required so I skipped it. I hate programming. I'd rather spend more time modeling and texturing.

Last thing if you rotate the camera and fly at the same time all the angles get screwed up and you're screwed. You'll have to go to stills and then back to the interactive to reset.

Just thought it turned out cool and thought I would share it with everyone!

ENJOY!

p.s. I'm really enjoying the powerbook- I can actually work in director now...

Yeah- its supposed to be low poly count 'cause of performance of shockwave 3D...

    Bad thread title!

    *pokes with stick-of-death*

I should put your "Check this out..." title in the Posting Guidelines as another example:

    Quote:

    9. Be descriptive with the title of new threads. Do not start a thread called "Guess what..." and then use the text portion of the post to explain. Give your post a headline. This courtesy is especially appreciated in the more highly trafficked forums.

    Renaming...

It really doesn't suck, but every time I'm in interactive mode, and close the window, this forum freezes! DAMN YOU MS!

looks like he sucked his skull in with super vacuum lung powers

and he only seems to fly for a second... can't cruise farther.

but the cape flutter is nice... copy that behaviour to his hair and tweak the skull model

but great work if you're new to the tools

Really cool! I'm a closet shockwave fan, and can appreciate how hard/frustrating it is to make anything in shockwave 3d, let alone something as slick as that! Props!!
