Deploying an Xserve for MySQL
I am specing out a G5 Xserve now for an internal corporate MySQL server.
Any suggestions on how to configure the 3 internal SATA drives for speed, redundancy, etc. I assume I would keep one drive for a dedicated boot/system drive (small, 80 GB), and mirror the other 2 drives for redundancy. Or should I configure the drives some other way?
Yes, I will get a spare drive (or 2) and an extra power supply too. Momma didn't raise no fool! :0)
Any thoughts or tips from you Xserve admins out there? This is my first Xserve (I have deployed lots of OS X Servers, but never an Xserve, and never a MySQL server)
