my g4 came with a 40 gb ibm and i installed an additional 60 gb. for some reason the 40 will not show up as a place to install an os. very strange. disk utility wouldn't allow me to erase it, it would just unmount. so i did it in 9.2, but now, back in X, disk utility still wont erase or partition, disk first aid says permission denied. and norton disk doctor says no problems found. any help would be appreciated.

Ok, first take out both HD's and check there pin settings. Second, check your cables. Try pluging

in the 40gb only with the osx cd and booting from

the cd. Check documentation on the HD, and anything

else that might consurn it. Also make sure there

plugged in right. Your drive might have been locked

    for editing?
