Converting mp4 to mp3

This isn't strictly Mac related but a friend of mine is having trouble with burning itunes mp4s to CD.



Does anybody know of a downloadable program to convert mp4s to mp3, preferably free?

    iTunes does it. In the prefs, change the importing options to whatever format you want, then cntrl-click any track and an option will be there to convert the file to whatever format your prefs are set to. You will lose a little quality though
