"Trade up" from iMac to eMac for $199?
Yeah, it's usually the other way around but with this new eMac, I'm so tempted to ditch my 1st gen 15" G4700 FP iMac.
A number of factors to consider:
iMac negatives:
-15" screen w/max res of only 1024 x768
-slower processor
-older video card
-slower combo drive
-slower bus
-USB 1.0
iMac positives:
-LCD
-Smaller base
-lighter weight
-quieter (debatable)
-cooler looking
I'd really rather get a 15" PB and not be tied to a desk...but that will set me back quite a bit financially. This eMac on the other hand can add some oomp into my desktop for a few years perhaps. And best yet, my local dealer will do a "trade up for" $199 (cdn)!
Sounds too good to be true...anyone think of a reason why to avoid an eMac?
